🚀 New Preconfigured System: Ubuntu 24.04 LTS with Code-Server (VSCode Web)

We have introduced a new preconfigured operating system based on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS, including Code-Server (VSCode Web) preinstalled and ready to use. This setup instantly transforms your VPS into a fully functional development environment accessible directly from your web browser.

🔎 What is Code-Server?

Code-Server is a web-based version of Visual Studio Code running directly on your server. It provides the same powerful development experience as the desktop version of VSCode, but accessible remotely.

  • ✔️ Identical interface to VSCode desktop
  • ✔️ Full extension marketplace support
  • ✔️ Integrated terminal
  • ✔️ Built-in Git support
  • ✔️ Autocompletion, linting and debugging
  • ✔️ Multi-language support (PHP, Python, Node.js, Go, Rust, C#, and more)

You can install and use extensions exactly as you would on a local VSCode installation (Prettier, Docker, themes, etc.).

🌍 Develop from Anywhere

The main advantage is simple: you can work from any device with a modern browser. No local software installation required. No file synchronization issues. Everything runs directly on your VPS.

Key advantages:

  • ⚡ Instant access to your development environment
  • 🔐 Your code stays on your server
  • 💻 Compatible with Windows, macOS, Linux, tablets
  • 🧳 Perfect for remote work or travel
  • 🖥️ Server-grade performance for builds and compilation

🌐 Service Access

Code-Server listens on your VPS public IPv6 address on port 8000.

Example:

http://[YOUR_VPS_IPV6]:8000

🔐 Default Password

The default password is your VPS hostname in UPPERCASE.

Example:

VPS-12345

For security reasons, we strongly recommend changing this password after your first login.

✏️ How to Change the Code-Server Password

1. Connect to your VPS via SSH using the credentials sent by email.

2. Edit the configuration file:

/root/.config/code-server/config.yaml

3. Modify the line:

password: YOUR_NEW_PASSWORD

4. Save the file and restart the service:

systemctl restart code-server@root

Your new password will be applied immediately.

🎯 Conclusion

With Ubuntu 24.04 LTS and Code-Server preinstalled, your VPS becomes a powerful cloud-based development workstation. Flexible, secure, and accessible from anywhere.

This configuration is ideal for developers, freelancers, technical teams, or anyone who wants a portable and centralized development environment.

Deployment is instant via your VPS management panel.
